Family Guy

"It seems today that all you see is violence in movies, and sex on TV.

But, Where are those good ol' fashion values...

That we used to rely?

Lucky there's a Family Guy! Lucky there's a man who,
positively can do, all the thing that make us...

...Laugh and cry!

He's Our Family Guy!"
I have to admit that watching Family Guy is one of my guilty pleasures.  I know, it's rude, often crude, politically incorrect and sometimes a little edgy.  But, it's funny and the flashback sequences when Peter remembers something he has done previously are sheer genius.  That said I am equally impressed with new Series One Family Guy figures and playset that Playmates Toys is set to release.
Playmates has done an excellent job of translating the 2D world of Family Guy into stunning 3D figures.
Everything clicks with these figures, from their telltale expressions, poses, clothing and accessories.  Even the packaging fits perfectly.
Single figures are packaged in sculpted bubble packs that allow the buyer to see the entire figure with accessories and appreciate the excellent sculpts, paint application and articulation.  And here's the real kicker.  Each figure talks!  You heard right!  Simply snap each figure into a compatible playset and each speak some of their most famous catch phrases!  How's that for clever?
Single figures include Stewie in his red jump suit and yellow shirt.  His expression is priceless.  Talk about smug and overconfident.  Included with Stewie is his sippy bottle and his beloved Teddy Bear, Rupert.
Stewie also comes in his Halloween costume: a duck.  This time Stewie is wide-eyed (much like his costume's head) and he even (shutter!) wears a smile!  A pumpkin with handle is included, filled to the brim with candy.
Peter looks as dumb and without a clue as his TV namesake.  His rotund body wears a white shirt with rolled up sleeves, green pants with black belt and brown shoes.  Included with the Peter figure are a triple XXX moonshine bottle and a mug filled with foaming beer.
Brian stands passively with hands to side as he peers out with suspicious and half closed eyes.  He wears his red collar with tag and comes with a cup of coffee and bone.  "Sorry, I don't do dog shows."
Cleveland wears a complacent expression and comes dressed in a yellow short sleeve shirt, blue pants and brown shoes.  He also comes with a mug of beer.
"Giggity, giggity, Goo!"  Sex addict Quagmire (I swear he looks like Bob Hope) comes with a glass of champagne (it's probably drugged) and wears his trademark red and yellow Hawaiian shirt, blue pants and brown shoes.  His neck is double jointed so he can speak his famous catchphrase.
Lois comes as an exclusive figure in the first Playset: the Griffin Living Room.  Plug any of the figures into the set and they chant their most famous lines.
This miniature set looks EXACTLY like its animated namesake.  On the back wall over the stair rails are a family photo of the Griffins and a photo of Peter and Lois.
Against the stairwell wall are photos of the kids next to a stereo system with potted plant and an end table, with lamp.
Sitting on the green carpet facing Lois is the family TV and stand.  The TV screen shows the Family Guy logo. A partial stair section faces Lois to her left.  It's a remarkable 3D set.
All of the figures are articulated and those with accessories can hold each.  Also in the mix is a Stewie soft foam football-you knew it had to happen.  "Curse you Brian!"
