After Earth and Angry Birds

Although the After Earth movie is not faring so well at the movies, and with the reviewers, the whole concept behind the film is fascinating.

When a father and son crash-land on Earth in the far future they find themselves in a precarious situation.

The father is injured and it's up to the son to travel almost 100km to find the separated rescue beacon.

The only problem is that since man has left Earth the plants and animals have evolved to kill humans.  Think of it as Mother Earth's revenge.  Just how can the young boy survive?

With the help of Insight Edition's After Earth: United Ranger Corps Survival Manual he stands a much better chance.

The Millennial Edition is more than a Survival Manual.  The book recalls the day that humanity left Earth and ventured to the stars, eventually establishing an Earth colony on Nova Prime.

Once on Nova a whole new way of life and surviving had to be established.  New creatures and conditions forced the colonists to adapt a new way of life.

Space travel became common place and it too has its rules and regulations.  But what of Earth?

Forced to land on the inhospitable planet the father and son must rely on their wits and courage to survive.  The Survival Manual updates readers on what to expect once on new Earth.

Creatures, conditions, environments, plants-all of it is covered in the manual.

The Manual is filled with full-color concept art, artist renderings, photos, crucial inserts and more all wrapped up in a leatherette binding giving the Manual a realistic and authoritative look.

Who world ever imagined that a simple mobile app game would spawn an entire industry?  But, that's just what happened when Angry Birds hit the scene.

The simple jump, run and smash game soon metamorphosed into a phenomenon that has spawned a series of games, cartoons, toys and hundreds of merchandise items ranging from outer wear to tennis shoes.

Angry Birds Hatching A Universe: Behind The Scenes Of A Phenomenon takes readers inside the minds of the creators of Angry Birds and expands from there.

Pages are packed with character designs, drawings, stickers, posters, sketches, fold-outs, postcards and various other bric-a-brac.

Accompanying text explains and expands upon the creation of the world's favorite mobile device game app and why it is so popular.  There's even a Star Wars version of the Angry Birds!  How cool is that?

For the lowdown on the Angry Birds Universe as compiled by Danny Graydon be sure to pick up a copy of the book from Insight Editions.
