E-2C Hawkeye Iraqi Freedom

As early as the mid-1940s the U.S. Navy began experimenting with airborne radar systems.

The experiments continued through the 1950s and in the early 1960s the first of the E-2 Hawkeye series of airborne early warning aircraft were introduced.

As the decades passed the aircraft design and capabilities changed and improved until the present day where the E-2C Hawkeye “Iraqi Freedom” five man crew aircraft is now used by nations across the globe.

Hasegawa Hobby Kits’ new 1/72 Scale, Limited Edition model recreates the ‘eye in the sky’ aircraft right down to the finest detail.

Two decals sets are available (depending on your preference) of the Hawkeye aircraft carrier capable aircraft.

Details include two props, a full radar assembly, sectional wing assembly, landing gear (in up or down position), complete interior cockpit, fuselage surface texturing and much more.

Eight easy to detach parts from part trees are included along with decals and instructions for assembly, decaling and paint application.

A complete history of the aircraft is also supplied with the instructions.  It’s a remarkable model of one the most sophisticated aircraft in the skies today.
